Barren Ridge Vineyards is a small family-owned winery located in a completely renovated farm building, on a former apple orchard, in Fishersville, Virginia. Barren Ridge is convenient to Staunton, Waynesboro, Charlottesville and Harrisonburg. Ideal for weddings, corporate functions, and private parties, the winery provides several facility options for your event, adequate parking, a catering kitchen, a private dressing room, and more. Facilities
The Tasting Room
With a large stone fireplace and access to our expansive patio which overlooks the vineyard, The Tasting Room ideal for private parties and rehearsal dinners of up to 50 people. The wall opposite the fireplace looks into our wine barrel room. The Tasting Room is available between the hours of 6pm and midnight. The tasting bar may also be used for your event.
The Audrey Blackford Room
The Audrey Blackford Room is located on the second floor of the restored farm building that also houses the winery and tasting room and is ideal for weddings and large gatherings such as corporate dinners and private parties. This room has vaulted ceilings, a large fireplace, and an outside deck with views of both the vineyards and mountains. There is a catering kitchen, private dressing room, and two restrooms located across the hall. The Audrey Blackford Room is available from 11am to midnight.
The Lawn
The Lawn is a large outdoor grassy area adjacent to the winery and tasting room with spectacular views of the vineyards and Allegany mountains. Tents can be placed on the lawn. |
Rental Fees
Rental fees start at $350 and the exact cost will depend on the type of event, areas needed, and number of persons. Fees include use of the facility, tables, chairs, stemware, private dressing area, catering area, and one winery employee present at the event.
A 50% non-refundable deposit and a signed rental agreement are required to reserve the date. This deposit is applied to the balance of the event. There is no tentative booking or penciling in.
The remaining 50% is due 14 days prior to the event.
A credit card number is required for the security deposit 14 days prior to event. Your card will not be charged for the security deposit if clean up is satisfactory and no damages have occurred.
Additional Information
Only Barren Ridge wines may be served and can be purchased through the tasting room for a discount. Bottled beer and liquor may be served if the caterer provides an ABC license. Unless arranged ahead of time, the Tasting Room cannot be turned over for a private event until 6pm, while the Audrey Blackford Room is available anytime during the day. Caterers will have access to the kitchen during business hours. Tents and other rentals must be removed the day following the event. Cleanup should be completed by 10am the following day. All guests must exit the facility by midnight.
Music
We welcome either DJ's or bands and electronically amplified music is permitted. This includes the use of a stereo or any speaker system that requires plugging into an electrical outlet. All music must be stopped outdoors by 10pm and indoors by 11:30 p.m.
