The Tasting Room
WE ARE NOW OFFERING FLIGHTS! Click below for our current flight lineup.
or to view our tasting room menu.
About our Wine:
Grapes are a reflection of the earth. They change dramatically depending on their environment: what side of the hill they grow on and even the people's character who grow them.
Our wine exhibits the ancient mineral-rich soils of the Shenandoah Valley. We don’t try to replicate any other wine. We take advantage of what’s in the soil and cultivate the flavor that is possible here. This results in crispness to our wine, an elegant, more austere wine that is a pure reflection of the soil.
The Tasting Room:
Step into our transformed apple packing barn for wine tasting. The rustic and cozy tasting room features the original ceiling and a large stone wood-burning fireplace. The bar is made of reclaimed wood from the original barn. The wines on our tasting list rotate with availability and always feature a diverse selection of whites and reds, both dry and sweet. Flights are offered and rotated every week.
Tasting Room Hours:
Our hours of operation, order pickup, and curbside pickup:
Mon-Thu: 12:00-6:00
Fri-Sat: 12:00-9:00
Sun: 1:00-6:00
We will also deliver locally within 15 miles of the winery ($5 delivery fee) every Thursday for orders placed through Wed by noon. (Staunton, Waynesboro, Crimora, Weyers Cave, Churchville, Greenville, Stuarts Draft)
You can also buy our wines online with VinoShipper for delivery outside of Virginia, and Orderport for all shipments inside the state of Virginia.

Reserve tastings occur 12:00-2:00 on the first Saturday of the month.
A dedicated member of our tasting room staff will guide you through this elevated food and wine tasting experience, offering detailed information on how to taste wine professionally.
The reserve tasting is comprised of 6 wines - 3 Barren Ridge Crush Club exclusive wines, not available to the public, and 3 specially curated international wines.
As part of your tasting, you will receive instruction and guidance on how to identify the differences in aromas and characteristics unique to the varietals included in your tasting.
Each tasting is accompanied by a gourmet cheese & charcuterie plate, selected specifically to pair with the featured wines. The staff member guiding your tasting will discuss how each item pairs with the wines and how the pairings enhance one another, so you can find your perfect wine and cheese "match made in Heaven".
To ensure dietary preferences are met, you will be given the opportunity to choose a vegetarian food pairing option when making a reservation.
Limited space is available for these events, so book early to ensure openings on your preferred date.

Dog Friendly:
The vineyard wouldn’t be the same without “Rascal our Winery Dog” and we understand that you want to bring your best friend too.
When a ticketed event is not being held, feel free to bring your dog(s).
Please assist us in keeping our vineyard beautiful by cleaning up waste promptly. Thank you.
Rascal the vineyard dog
While you may not see Rascal at the vineyard very often these days (he's enjoying his retirement), our young friend Jackson can frequently be found in the tasting room and on the patio while his person assists guests in the tasting room.

Jackson Brown loves coming to work at Barren Ridge Vineyards with tasting room staff member Jahna.
